A welcome to London

My boyfriend and I met Iris and Lidia through their flat posting.. We stayed with them for about a week and during that time got to know our hosts very well. They invited us warmly into their home, we shared stories almost every night; talking about London, travels, the U.S., politics, and so many other things. One thing I can say about Lidia is that she was a calm, caring, loving person. It was obvious that she cared strongly about Iris. We laughed when we would hear them laughing up a storm in the other room, or when they were cooking dinner together in the kitchen. We were staying with them when Lidia's paper's arrived for her approval for Australia and we couldn't have been happier for them. They were so excited. The next morning was when we were scheduled to leave London, and Lidia walked with us to the train station telling us that we were more than welcome to visit them in Australia and wishing us luck on the rest of our trip. That afternoon was when she had her accident. Our hearts broke when we received the message from Iris. It was a complete shock and all we wanted to do was turn around and go back to London. Lidia was one of the kindest people we met on our trip. She had a kind heart and we only wish we would have been able to know her better. Much love to Iris and Lidia's family. -Juliana and Matthew
